Janine Freeman has represented the local community in State Parliament since 2008.
Driven by the values of community, opportunity and fairness, she has been a passionate community organiser and volunteer for most of her life.
From a young age, Janine had instilled in her a commitment to community involvement by her parents who were active members of the Scarborough Senior High School parent association.
Before her roles advocating for the rights of working people as the Assistant Secretary of the trade union peak body in Western Australia - Unions WA, and as the Senior Industrial Officer at the Liquor Hospitality and Miscellaneous Worker's Union, Janine spent many years establishing community legal centres to provide affordable access to legal advice for everyday people.
Janine has held several board positions for prominent organisations including HESTA superannuation fund, WA WorkCover and Worksafe.
As part of Western Australia's Labor Premier Mark McGowan's team, Janine represents the electorate of Mirrabooka.
She is working hard to continue delivering jobs and a stronger local economy, access to health services, more support for small businesses, a safer community and more investment in local schools.
